Honoring, Celebrating, and Planning for the End of a Life

Advance Care and End-of-Life planning with Becca Allen, LCSW

My Services

Advance Care Planning

Advance Care Planning (ACP) involves thinking, documenting, and discussing healthcare preferences and decisions in advance of a serious illness or end-of-life care. These interactive conversations, one-on-one or in groups, equip individuals with the essential information to complete their Advance Directive document and help them discuss these plans with their loved ones. By the end of the course, participants feel empowered to take the next steps toward proactive, meaningful planning.

The Red Book

The details of day-to-day living (passwords, bills, important contacts, wishes for end-of-life, etc.) are rarely shared with loved ones, yet after a death this is exactly the information they need for an efficient closure of a life. Taking the time to collect, organize, and document this vital information in a convenient place ("The Red Book") now is a gift to family and friends—saving them countless hours of searching, guesswork, and frustration during a time when they would rather be honoring and celebrating a life. Get ready to sweat the details and tap into those organizational skills in this multi-session program!

Getting Your Affairs

In Order

Using the metaphor of "getting your house in order," this service, for individuals or groups, offers compassionate guidance through the essential aspects of end-of-life planning. We'll move room by room, clarifying values (foundation), documenting legal and legacy wishes (kitchen), organizing daily life details (home office), outlining after-death preferences (living room), and exploring both physical belongings and emotional, unfinished business (attic or basement). When all the rooms are completed, those responsible for closing an estate will have most of the information they need, easing stress and uncertainty during a difficult time.

Meet Becca

Social Worker & End-of-Life Doula

Becca is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in End-of-Life Planning. She works with individuals, families, and groups—and facilitates workshops that bring people together to explore and prepare for end-of-life with thoughtful conversation, compassion, and care.

Her focus is on Advance Care Planning and getting a person’s affairs in order—making sure the very practical and emotional work of dying is met with clarity, dignity, and love.

Becca's services are for people at all stages of life and health. Whether they’re facing a recent diagnosis, supporting an aging parent, or simply ready to plan ahead, Becca’s here to help name what matters most—and make it known.

Becca comes to this work with over 25 years of leadership in human services and philanthropy. And it’s not just professional—it’s personal. She’s supporting her own parents as they navigate aging and loss, and she’s seen how much easier it is when people have a plan, a voice, and someone to walk with them through it.

Her approach is shaped by a lifetime of service and support—whether it was working at a summer camp for kids with serious illnesses, raising two incredible children (and fostering others), or sitting with families during moments of uncertainty and transition. This path has taught her how to listen deeply, hold space for the hard stuff, and offer practical guidance with heart.

For Becca, end-of-life work isn’t about endings. It’s about intention and making the most of the time we have.

Becca also loves adventure. She spent several years choosing something new to try every month—skydiving, flying a prop plane, and walking on fire. These days, she’s learning to row on the Housatonic River and occasionally plunges into the Atlantic for a cold swim. She lives in Connecticut with her husband, where they’ve built a full, messy, and meaningful life together.

“You are a marvel! Who could imagine 12 strangers brought together and within an hour and a half are opening up to one another about that most fraught subject—dying. But by some magic, you made it happen.”

"It took me a year, but I finally did it—thanks to your workshop! Completing the Red Book and uploading everything to MyChart lifted such a weight off my shoulders. I uncovered documents that needed updating and had meaningful conversations I’d been putting off. Your workshop was the catalyst for it all. Truly, what you offer is a gift."
